I’m needing to buy a Vidmar or Lista type cabinet to organize my shop.
I spend too much time looking for stuff and would like to put all my screws, bolts, etc in one of these. I’ve seen some used ones on E-BAY, but they are always too far away.
Does anyone know a Industrial Surplus or Industrial Equipment Store in the Chicago area? I’m about 4 hours west of Chicago. Or does anyone know of one in the Kansas City or St Louis area?
I’ve been searching for over an hour on Google and can’t find anyone.
Thanks Folks.

You like the premium brands! One company that will have a good selection with great service is McMaster-Carr. They don't have the best prices, but their service and selection is outstanding.
Go to http://www.mcmaster.com and in the Find box enter "drawer cabinets".
Have you searched the yellow pages in the urban areas near you?
Maybe, http://www.dozierequip.com/
Thanks guys for your response. I looked there , they are pricy over $1000 new.
On EBAY there is alway some for half that price, but they are alway in California or Pennslvania.
The shipping quotes I've gotten are almost as much as the cabinet. Here in this little Iowa town, our local used storage folks get some Vidmars now and then , but the last time they weren't the size I wanted.
I'm looking for one around 35" tall 26" wide and 24" deep. I'm going to take my radial-arm saw off it's legs and put it and long material platform on top the cabinet. Right now all my screws and such are in bins that are taking up too much precious space. With this cabinet I'll be able to pull out one drawer and boom, there will be all the different screw sizes.
Sorry to ramble on about my shop so much. Anyway , I don't know anyone in Chicago. but I bet there are some business up there that sell a lot of used cabinets and racks and such, that is what I'm trying to find.
Thanks for being there folks.
The problem is that the places I have seen in KC are not the places that you can call up and see what they have. You kind of have to go there and dig through the cr*p.
Liquidation companies come across these types of things. No sense in buying new, IMHO.
Look under "liquidation" in the yellow pages and then target companies that liquidate manufacturing facilities or retail (hardware) stores. Might take a few phone calls, and a lot of explaining... but you will probably find what you seek or something close. Pricing should be about 1/10 to 1/4 of new... depending on popularity of item.
These guys are sharp negotiators, so know what you are willing to pay. Also know the various brands and their retail prices before negotiating.

Cuy,
Have you considered one of those HF cab's?View Imagehttp://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=90320
It's definitely no $5K Lista but not bad for the price...$680 w/t side cab. to your door. Double ballbearing slide roller construction. Bought one myself.
