Just because it’s what is mostly carried around here I have usually used the USG dry setting compounds (Durabond, Easy Sand). I went the the lumber yard yesterday to pick up a sack of 210 . They wereout of USG but they had Goldbond brand which I have never used.
The Goldbond mixed up like a dream and went on great (better than my USG experiences). Just wondering what experiences and /or preferences on the various brands of setting compounds anyone out there may have.
On a related side note I saw today that the local Menards is now carrying Lefarge dry and premixed which I have heard good things about.

Must be a regional thing; we have no choice in this part of CT; it's USG or play-dough. I have no complaints with the Durabond, but then, I have little to compare it with.
Play-dough dries harder than Durabond for sure. Darn kids.
