Plumbers set a shower unit and then the wall didn’t get fired out to cover the screws in the flange. I was thinking of using Azeck ..sp.. to cover the screws. Does this stuff hold paint well? Painters are using a high end paint on the interiors. I’m thinking of using this stuff because of the moisture that is prevelent in baths. Good idea or not?

Nothing wrong with it on interior. I know guys who build shower surrounds out of it with raised panels and the whole works. Never done it myself, but I haven't seen it fail yet. I've used it for window packing in bathrooms, but thats as far as I got with it inside the house.
any chance of talking those guys out of a picture or two. Really sounds interesting
Well, the house has been sold, so it may have to wait till the next time.
dang... :)
Use 100% Acrylic Latex paint, no primer necessary. Works great for that kind of application.
Got a bunch of it interior - in both our mudroom and the kids' bathroom. Works a treat, holds paint like a champ. Only caveat is that on the edges you might have to fill and sand if you want a good finish, since it's a bit porous.
I got a 10' chunk from the lumber yard and gonna give it a try. Architec likes the idea (he should I'm saving his ####). If I nail it what do you use to fill the holes?

I like Bondo for filling nail holes in Azek, but you can use any wood filler, lightweight vinyl spackling compound, or a product made for that situation, Bond-n-Fill.
Be careful nailing it--it's prone to shattering. Predrilling is a good idea, or use trim-head screws.
I'm gonna have to predrill cause I'm nailing through the tub flange also. Thanks guys.

We have had good results with painting Azek. I recommend light sanding, a high quality tinted latex primer and two coats of acrylic latex finish. Allow extra time for a full cure.
I use a lot of it in bathrooms. Solids milled to match casings/base and their T&G beaded board for wainscot. The painters love it. Light sanding with 120 to give some tooth on the smooth surfaces and go
