Although expensive, this dual-mode right-angle sander from Festool has a great feel
This dual-mode right-angle sander has a great feel, but it is a bit pricey. It has a soft-start motor and fast mode change. In its mode-change system, the orbit size remains the same, but in the aggressive mode, the sander’s drive system forces the pad into a powerful spin–more like that of a right-angle grinder–which dramatically reduces the rate of material removed. It also makes for a wild ride that can be harder to control than the in-line force of a belt sander. Dust collection with a vacuum was outstanding. This sander comes with a case.
