David Kalin, Kaneohe, Hawaii, developed a simple drying rack for finishing small components. Use a piece of 1×6 or any scrap will do, with 1 1/2-in. nails driven up through the bottom on 3 in. centers. Once the finish is applied, press a nonshow face edge of the component into one of the nail heads to prop-up the workpiece.
