Last year in Oct. I took advantage of the clouds clearing and I made a spontaneous trip to a house where I had already photographed the interior a few weeks earlier. The leaves were colorful and I knew bad weather was coming in that would potentially wipe them all out. The homeowners were having friends over for dinner, but graciously helped me with my shoot by turning on all of the lights and moving a few things off of the porch. Being flexible and planning as far in advance pays off when you want to get the best shots in the best light and weather. The siding on this house is painted clapboards with corrugated metal roofing in the gables. The porch posts and front entry door are Douglas-fir and the windows are Marvin Inregrity.
