Portland, Maine architect Stephen Blatt decided to give this stairway an unusual look by curving the ceiling and surfacing it with butted fir boards. The curvaceous effect is very nice and gives interest to an ordinarily straightforward space. He also added stripped maple sapling handrails so that the space not only looks nice, but feels nice too!
