Decorative Baluster and Frieze
Fine trim details on this second-story porch take inspiration from the Northern New England landscape.
Sporting appropriately themed trim details for a house in Maine, pine tree cutouts are cleverly used to add texture and interest to the exterior of this house in the Pine Tree state. The flat porch balusters feature the pine trees as cutouts, then the cutout pieces were attached to the frieze board and painted a light grey, as if they are shadows. A good example of a builder taking advantage of what would have otherwise been an unadorned piece of trim, making it interesting and fun.
