This house is reminiscent of oceanfront homes that the homeowners (a couple) had previously admired on trips to the coast. Casual lakefront intertwines with classic New England decor in the design, making for an ideal place to start a second life together. It sits on a rocky bluff and looks northwest, offering picturesque views from the windows and porch. Its cape architectural style bears resemblance to a shingle-style home built in an L-shape to navigate the sense of arrival. One stone walkway from the driveway leads into the front of the house, while another meanders through an herb garden to the three-car garage and workshop. Next to the breezeway is an outdoor shower and three-season screened-in porch that boasts a panoramic lake view. Farther down the property they find easy access to a private dock and boat. A stone patio with a built-in gas fire pit faces the lake on the backside of the house, providing opportunities to gather outside all year around!

The main entry leads to a wide open space, with the master bedroom and kitchen on either side of the living room. The master bedroom has a custom walk-in closet, and a bathroom with a shower floor that’s tiled with stones the homeowners gathered by the lake. Heated floors, soft automatic lighting, and custom cabinetry make the bathroom a clean and welcoming space. The living room has a tv framed with wood above the fireplace – disguised by a photo portrait setting that activates when not in use. Deep hickory wood floors and coffered ceilings lead into the kitchen that’s designed around a large granite island. The island sits in the center area with plenty of seating and space to entertain. A prep-sink and custom Shaker cabinets rise to the ceiling for additional storage and functionality. The main floor is completed by a walk-in laundry room, a mudroom, pantry, and powder room. The upstairs hosts cozy bedrooms and a study area, while the lower floor boasts an entertainment room and a home gym. This waterfront property melds styles, beauty, and functionality to create a warm place to call home.
