Any web sites with patterns for laying out tile?
Specifically old, early 1900s type layouts?
Something that does NOT have Dahl octagon and dot as their only suggestion?

I've seen some nice pictures in a brochure from American Olean of victorian era tile patterns in a tile store a few years ago.
In the past I have seen a large number of patterns on tile manufactures web sites.I know that is a fairly generic answer, but a good place to start.
Here's some period feature tiles..........not too affordable.

And while I was looking, stumbled upon this bit of interesting history.

Thanks guys. I found a couple of patterns before I posted in that Tileheritage site by picking through the catalog pages.
What I really need is for Sancho Ron to crawl out from under his table and go take a photo of the floor in the old OC courthouse. That's the pattern I'm looking for I think.
Yo Ron, you there?

Calvin, that Charles Rupert has some beautiful expensive tile. I want a set of these for my fireplace.

Guess I'll have to build a fireplace & rob a bank too.
Thanks, Joe H
yeah joe, beauts. Spose those aren't in the 42.00 category.
You know, the more I looked at tile on my search, the more I wanted to do more than just slap 4x4's on a backsplash. It's interesting work. Would like to do more. Best of luck on your quest. Couldn't find a thing on Orange County courthouse other than print. Sounds like it has nice tile, just couldn't see it.Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.
