Is a starter strip needed when using rolled roofing instead of regular shingles?
We are replacing the lower parts of the rolled roofing on our garage and was told at the store that we would not need a starter strip since we were using rolled roofing? Is that true?
Also, are we supposed to tar along the bottom edge of all of the rolled strips? I read somewhere that you tar two inches at the bottom, then lay the next section down and just nail int he top?
Any instructions on how to do this would be great.
