I have a customer who needs to have the foundation on an old addition replaced. I have my ideas about what to do but he heard from friend of his from Canada about a procedure called “Mud Drilling” that has to do with putting new footings in place. Anyone heard of this?

Mudjacking is a technique used to level existing concrete or foundations. It is also a way to solidify areas of backfill that have settled. Since you need to replace the foundation, you would have to jack up and support the structure, then dig and pour new footings. I have never heard of mudjacking to replace existing foundation, however I am no expert. I'm sure some posts will follow that can clarify this? Are mudjacking and muddrilling the same thing?
