I am concidering the use of styrofoam blocks for a basement foundation. I would like to hear from those who have used it stating pros and cons for its use.

I think Mike Guertin or Rick Arnold wrote an article for the mag a few issues back that was quite good. I never used them myself, got an estimate for my own house, it was double the cost of a block basement.

I've used them a bunch of times.
More expensive? Yes.
Fast? Yes.
The nice thing is that you can put up a few hundred lineal feet in a day with just a couple of people. There are slots for the iron, pre-made corners and the concrete is insulated on both sides from day one. You can screw panelling or even drywall right into the plastic braces.
The only problems I've encountered are in tall (10'+) walls that aren't braced properly. Without proper bracing the walls are extremely susceptible to bowing and blowouts.
If you live in a cold climate I would highly recommend looking into it.
