after doing 2 window replacement jobs with brick exterior i have run into a bid for a job that will be getting new siding. the house now has aluminum siding with brick molding. what is the method for a condition like this? replace the window and let the siding guy deal with it or install wood then wrap with coil? or get a window with a nailing flange and let him deal with it??? take a look at the photos to see what i am looking at. also a photo of one of the brick jobs.
thanks

The guy I work with and I just finished putting new windows in an aluminum sided house. The house from hell (the only window we were supposed to keep turned out to be in a wall that God only knows was holding up--studs, plates, rafter tails, floor and floor joists all rotted and wet; rain running down the inside of the aluminum and no sheathing!).
Anyway, we ran a pencil line around all the old windows using a scap block to gauge distance (1-1/2") and cut away the aluminum with a battery circular saw. Removed windows (they had nailing flanges, so removed nails and pushed them out from inside). Replaced with windows also having flanges. Then Marc used coil stock and made channels and put them around windows, tucking it tight under the siding. Next, nailed on 2x2's over the flanges and in the gap between window and channel, and finished by wrapping them with coil stock he'd formed into big channels to cover the 2x2 frame. Install this alum. trim starting at bottom, add sides with bottom corners mitered, add top with sides mitered.
