The much-abused worm-drive saw often ends up lying in the mud next to the sawhorses between cuts. Not only is this hard on the saw, but the endless bending and stooping to put the saw down and pick it up again is also hard on the back.
One day I watched my brother staple a short length of 1×2 to the leg of his sawhorse to act as a saw hanger, and I’ve been doing the same ever since. This surprisingly handy arrangement, as shown in the drawing, saves on time, protects the saw, and minimizes back pain at the end of a long day.
