This sweet built-in dual bed featuring Norwegian craftsmanship is found in a delightful house on an island off the coast of Maine. Actually designed and built in Norway in the mid 1950’s and transported over here piece by piece, the house is unique and a joy to be in. With Nordic influences throughout, including a sod roof, carved wooden columns, and other details that speak of comfort and shelter in harsh winters, the house fits in nicely on Maine’s rugged coast. One of the most charming houses I’ve had the opportunity to photograph in over thirty years, this one really is one of a kind.
