Soudal has a new twist on the can of expanding foam. The Genius Gun, a patented design, is engineered to be more comfortable, allow for inverted use and make dispensing the desired amount of product a lot more precise.
The product is closed-cell polyurethane foam. Soudal says a skin will form in approximately 10 minutes. Drying time will vary based on foam thickness and the ambient temperature, but 1.2 inches of foam is set to dry in aaproximately 90 minutes with a temperature of 68°F and 65% relative humidity. When fully cured, according to Soudal, the foam can handle a temperature range of -40°F to 194°F when cured. The foam can handle short-term (less than an hour) temperatures of 248F.
The extrusion straw can be capped with an included sealing plug, and the foam will last for up to six weeks. Gloves are also included with each can.
The foam adheres to practically all building materials such as brick, concrete, insulation materials, pipes, cables, ducts, wood, metals and plastics (except PP, PE, PTFE and silicones).
