A brand new visitor center welcomes people to the Spring Mountain National recreation area. This site includes the nations first and only Cold-war monument, educational exhibits, site specific sculptures, an amphitheater, education building and visitor center. The building is a study in fitting into its natural environment. The center’s radiant heating and cooling systems are designed to have as small a footprint as possible, old picnic tables found on the mountain have been recycled and used as the wood paneling in the center. Local artists have worked with the forest service and LGArchitects to provide a rich and varied experience, from contemplative spaces to windows that transform when viewed through polarized glass.
An amazing place to experience another side of Las Vegas.
