The Sunset Green Home is a project that is not only rebuilding a home essentially destroyed by Hurricane Sandy in 2012 but is doing so with LEED Platinum credentials. Making a 70-year-old home meet current code for a waterfront home is challenging and doing so while achieving LEED Platinum certification is a serious commitment. When every detail matters, choosing the right products is, of course, essential. As such it is understandable that Daltile is proud to announce it is on board as a sponsor of this product.
The focus of a LEED certified home is on energy-efficiency, durability and being environmentally-friendly. The Sunset Green Home project and website chronicles homeowner Kim Erle’s efforts in rebuilding the home and serves to help share information about building green and the subject sustainability.
Daltile has provided tile that achieves sustainability due to its durability. The Daltile products are reported to also help meeting LEED requirements for indoor air quality. Daltile’s City View ColorBody Porcelain will be used on the floors of the pool house and Veranda Solids and Modern Dimensions will be sourced for floors and walls of the bathrooms. The master bathroom will feature Calacatta Marble.
The project is scheduled to be complete in July of 2015.
