A quiet and thoughtful room in the midst of a bustling school setting, this sanctuary and meeting place provides an oasis of calm. The wooden screen panels on the windows are evocative of stained glass. The panels are laser-cut cypress wood veneer over ½” MDF, which are attached with magnets for easy access to the windows for cleaning.
The woodworker and architect collaborated on the design of both the Ark and the panels. The Ark is made of cypress and teak with inlays of other woods that were chosen for their naturally occurring colors such as Carob, Canary, and Yellow heart woods.
