An illustration that bigger is not necessarily better, this tiny mansard roofed cottage in Round Pond, Maine is a wonderful vacation cottage for it’s owners who lovingly restored it. Built in about 1870 it had become derelict when they bought it in 1972, but they brought it back and made a delightful vacation home for themselves and their kids. With a grand total of 800 square feet there is no space to waste, but the house has all that is needed for a summer cottage near the shore. A deck connects the house to a bunkhouse and shed in the back, providing an outdoor area and more space for storage and guests. Cool!
