A classic coastal Maine view is framed through the large sliding doors of a modernist house designed by Bruce Norelius of Elliott + Elliott Architecture of Blue Hill, Maine. The upper windows are louvered to form a brise-soliel, preventing excessive sunlight from entering the room and adding an interesting fenestration detail. The oversized sliding doors (built by Case) allow ample fresh air and create a sense of being outdoors even when they are closed. A nice juxtaposition of a classic landscape meeting modern architecture…..
