The 2017 FHB House is a production-built house in a small development of net-zero-ready houses in Wilder, Vermont, all with a focus on affordability and universal design principles. It’s designed to be quickly built and easily duplicated while meeting stringent air-sealing and performance standards and a strict budget.

Installing Vinyl-Frame, Triple-Glazed Windows

These quality windows offer warmth, no condensation on the interior, and somewhat higher R-values.

The windows on the FHB House project are triple-glazed with a vinyl frame assembly and an insulated core. Windows in a deep double-stud wall can be installed in two locations: flush with the exterior wall or inset in the wall. These installations are often referred to as “outies” and “innies,” respectively. The FHB House windows are installed as outies. This video details the installation process.
