We’re in the planning stages of our new house (actually a major addition, but I’m treating it all like new construction) and I’m concerned about providing for Computer/Cable/Phone access throughout the house. I’ve seen posts on this before, and if I remember correctly, most were recommending to rough-in empty PVC conduit with a box in all interested rooms. I like this idea, but I was wondering, should all the conduits run back to a central distribution area?, and how is this “panel” fed?- via a weather-head through the roof? (that’s how our current phone and cable is) I really don’t want to run CAT-5 cable throughout the house now, as my oldest kid is only 5. I’d like to wait until they’re a little older and have a need for faster and better connections. By that time, the cabling requirements may even change.
Thanks!
