The kitchen in this 1928 home was dark and dated. The renovation opened the kitchen up to adjacent rooms, added windows to increase natural light and employed warm natural materials including custom Douglas fir cabinets and “Newcrete” counter tops from Sonoma Cast Stone. A paint-grade “hutch”, and open shelving provide much needed storage space in an otherwise awkward corner.
