Adjacent to a busy intersection in a traditional Seattle neighborhood, this fence and garden embrace the patina of time and reclaim the yard. The area serves two purposes, creating privacy while also making a public gathering spot within the streetscape. Slits in the rusted steel wall, a cedar screen, and a unique gate encourage curiosity about the landscape within. The western red cedar gate provides privacy while inviting guests with its integrated steel handle and copper accents.
