This counter becomes a focus of a kitchen renovation in this San Francisco Victorian home. Contrasts between the solid heavy mass of the wood and the seemingly liquid form of the “live edge” draw the eye and captivate the senses. The varied materials used in the kitchen; brick, redwood, and soapstone add a dynamic tension to the space. The countertop was reclaimed from a redwood bench, given to the homeowners.
