I planned to sub out the painting but the workflow directed me to tackle the job with students' help.
Usually painting crews want to get in and out in a week or two and have the place to themselves. But the second floor is ready for paint, and we’re still compounding the first floor. I figured we could move things along upstairs by doing the painting. So one weekend I set up my sprayer and primed all the upstairs surfaces and then sprayed the ceilings. In less than two days I had all that work done myself. Then in four 90-minute workdays, Addison and Nick painted the three bedrooms, one bathroom, the laundry, and hallway. I cut in the ceilings so they could focus on rolling.
