Convenient Dust Collection
The Bosch TS1004 Dust Bag is designed to attach to a tablesaw's dust port to collect up to 70% of the dust, without the need to haul and set up a vac or dust extractor.
If I have to use a tablesaw inside on a remodeling job, I always use some sort of table saw dust-collection system. But when using a tablesaw outside on a remodel or inside on a new-construction job, hauling and setting up a vac or dust extractor is not always worth the effort. That said, breathing in dusty air is not healthy, and most conscientious homeowners don’t appreciate their cars or patio furniture caked in dust or contending with heaping mounds of the stuff on their lawns. So, when I came across the Bosch TS1004 Dust Bag designed to attach to the tablesaw’s dust port, I decided to give it a try.
I can’t vouch for Bosch’s claim that the bag collects up to 70% of the dust, but I usually end up with minimal dust on the ground, so I know it gets most of it, and I can guarantee that I’m breathing in cleaner air throughout the day. I use the TS1004 dust-collection bag on my Bosch tablesaw, but it should work on all saws with a 2-1⁄2-in. dust port. I suppose it would depend on the design of the saw as to how effective the dust bag is, but at $17, it certainly won’t break the bank to give it a try.
