In this episode of Shop Class, builder Tony Blue demonstrates how to seal roof ridges and plumbing-vent penetrations with ZIP System Flashing Tape. Even if a roof will eventually have a ridge vent, Tony covers the sheathing gap at the ridge with a wide piece of flashing tape temporarily to keep the house weathertight until the roofing is installed. Plus, he uses Zip System Stretch Tape to seal roof penetrations because it provides an additional layer of protection until plumbing boots are installed.
