Build a Tool Shed Series: Foundation System
Learn the basics of the most common shed foundations and what to consider when deciding on the right foundation for you
Building the foundation to a shed is a task that requires some decision making. Not only do you have to consider what your code permits, but you must also understand what kind of weather your shed will have to protect itself against. The four varieties mentioned in the video are cement block over crushed stone, a large concrete footing with a four by four, a Redi footing, and a concrete pier. Each foundation technique has advantages and disadvantages that need to be taken into consideration before choosing one and building. This is not a decision that should be taken lightly; your entire deck will be standing on these foundations and you’ll need the right tool for the job.
