The Days Are Getting Shorter
This two-story addition is designed to capture the view of Lake Champlain and the setting sun.
It’s the time of year when my days at work are not as long. Shooting on summer nights until 9 p.m. is over. It’s bittersweet. Looking back on the night shoots of June, July, and August is fun to do, and every summer always seems to go by too fast. I hiked out into a meadow to take this shot so I could capture the house in its setting with Mt. Philo State Park in the background. The sun was setting behind me over Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. The builder designed a connecting mudroom from the garage and a two-story addition, which takes advantage of the these westerly views. Now it’s time to start thinking about capturing autumn color, the warm low-angled light of fall, and, eventually, the first snowfall.
