"This door, by far, is the most unique door I have ever photographed."
This door, by far, is the most unique door I have ever photographed. I had to figure out a way to shoot it so viewers would know what they were looking at. The challenge was to figure out how much of the living space to add in to the composition, without taking away from the focus on the door. I had shot additional beautiful, hand-crafted doors in the other parts of the house and they were suitable to be shot without any reference to the interior spaces. Here, I think the image makes you think about someone stopping, and dropping a marble from the top or other places in the door, depending on your height. What a great concept of adding a playful aspect to a normally, functional part of your house. Everyone needs to stop and play for a moment when you take a break from your computer or when you are on your way to the bathroom! The door is made out of ash and pine and was built by the homeowner, Joel Taplin.
