Beautifully Balanced Dining Table
The unusual but elegant angular legs of this handcrafted table appear to defy gravity.
Copeland Furniture blends minimalist styles—from classic Shaker to modern Scandinavian—with traditional New England craftsmanship in every piece they make. The Exeter dining table is no exception. Solid wood and precision joinery are what make the table’s remarkable shape possible. Opt for the self-storing extension table if you need to switch between intimate family meals and large holiday dinner parties; or go for a glass top if you’re more interested in admiring the gravity-defying table base.
- Constructed of solid walnut or cherry
- Available tops: single leaf, double leaf, rectangular glass, and round glass
- $2226 to $6996, depending on wood choice, size, and style of top
You can order any pieces in the Exeter collection in walnut with a natural finish (pictured above) or made of cherry in one of five finishes (natural pictured below; see Copeland’s website for other finish options). Copeland also produces a number of complementary pieces to complete your dining room decor, including the Kyoto chairs and Exeter sideboard, as seen in the following two photos.
The glass versions of the table come in a choice of 6-ft. x 4-ft. rectangular top, 7-ft. x 4-ft. rectangular top, or 54-in. round top.
If you regularly host big parties, the double-leaf wood top is probably your best choice. And with the precision hardware and self-storing leaves, switching the table from a six-seater to a twelve-seater looks to be a quick and effortless process.
