Build a Knockdown Router Table
A detailed, scalable parts drawing serves as the blueprint for your own router table.
Tired of lugging what he called his 250-lb. beast from job to job, designer and builder Joe Lanza set out to create a stable, lightweight, knockdown router table he could set up in seconds. His table is designed along the lines of cardboard cutouts: Strategically cut slots lock the table assembly together without the need for glue or fasteners. Angled legs give the table stability, and the top fits snugly into the assembled tabletop. In this magazine extra, view Joe’s drawings of the base and tabletop and learn how he was able to make and assemble his 7-piece router table from a single 5 x 5 sheet of Baltic-birch plywood.
To learn how Joe developed this table, read A Knockdown Router Table from Fine Homebuilding Issue #190 (Oct/Nov 2007), pp. 58-59.
