A-Frame Redux
Thoughtful details in this vacation-home remodel transform a dated architectural style into a timeless classic.
Here’s a cool remodel of a ski chalet A-frame designed by Group Three Architects. A fire in the house forced a major renovation/rebuild and presented the architects with a challenge: to rethink a house style that is generally considered rather passé. The architects designed an addition, a large stone fireplace, and fir roof trusses that helped tie everything together. The result is a handsome home that is spacious, interesting, and very livable.

Really lovely inside!! ...but doesn't that extension with the low pitch roof sort of defeat one of the purposes of an A frame?
